Information, not advice

Everything on The Reseller Index is general information for online sellers. It isn't tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and it doesn't tell you what to file or charge. Talk to a qualified professional about your own situation.

Check the official source before you rely on a number

Fees, postage and platform rules change, sometimes without notice, and a platform can apply its own rules to your account. Every number here links to the official page it came from and shows the date we checked it. Calculator results are estimates from the published rates and the inputs you give; your actual fees, labels and payouts are what the platform or carrier charges you. Before you price, list or ship based on our numbers, check the linked source. If you find an error, tell us and we'll fix it in the public corrections log.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site, calculators, data, downloads and emails are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, The Reseller Index isn't liable for any loss or damage from using or relying on them, including lost profits, mispriced listings, postage charges or account actions by a platform. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Purchases and refunds

• Profit Toolkit ($29): a downloadable spreadsheet, delivered right after payment. If it doesn't help, reply to your receipt within 30 days and we'll refund you in full. No questions asked.
• Sponsorships: we review every sponsorship before it runs. If we can't approve yours, we refund it in full. Once a placement has run, it isn't refundable. See Advertise for what a placement includes.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Your use of the site

Use the site lawfully. Don't try to break, overload or get around its security, and don't use it to send spam. You may link to any page. Automated access to the data is welcome through the published feeds; please don't hammer the site.

Our content and your reuse of it

The change tracker, the Reseller Cost Index and the published data feeds are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0: credit The Reseller Index and link to resellerindex.com. Other text, design and the Profit Toolkit belong to The Reseller Index; the toolkit is licensed for your own business use, not for resale. Platform names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to describe their services; we're not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

If you sign up, we'll send the newsletter and occasional related emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link. See Privacy for what we keep and why.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date.
