Price history

What USPS Media Mail and retail packages (First-Class, Ground Advantage and Priority Mail) cost on each date a final USPS price list covers, one row per price period, keyed to the day each price took effect. Every row links the official page it comes from, and each history downloads as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0.

How these histories work

A price period is the stretch between two price changes. It starts on the effective date printed on the official price list and ends the day before the next price took effect. We use that printed date, not the date of the archive copy that carries the list, because archive copies sometimes hold an older or newer list than their own date.

Every row is checked against at least one other official document before it goes in, such as a second edition of the same price list or the carrier's own price file. Where no final official list covers a stretch of time, we show a gap instead of filling it from a draft or another website. Current gaps: USPS Media Mail, Jan 22, 2012 to Jan 26, 2013; USPS retail package prices, Jan 22, 2012 to Jan 26, 2013. Each history page says why.

Use a history to check what a past label should have cost, to see how often and in which months prices change, or to line postage up against your own sales over time in a spreadsheet. A history is added here only once every row traces to an official price list.
