Only some. Etsy allows reselling for items you handpick or source in three groups: vintage items over 20 years old, craft and party supplies, and gift baskets you put together.
How Etsy calculates its fees
The 6.5% transaction fee covers the item price plus shipping and gift wrap you charge. Payment processing covers the item, shipping and sales tax.
- Listings last 4 months; each renewal is another $0.20.
- Offsite Ads, only on sales Etsy attributes to an ad: 15% of the order total if your shop has never made $10,000 in any 365-day period; 12% (and participation becomes mandatory) once it has; never more than $100 per order.
- Etsy allows reselling only for items you handpick or source: vintage items over 20 years old, craft and party supplies, and gift baskets you put together. Other resold goods aren't allowed.

Etsy Purchase Protection now pays up to $250 on any eligible order
For cases opened from May 7, 2026, Etsy Purchase Protection pays up to $250 of the refund on an eligible order, even if the order total is higher, and the seller is charged the rest. Etsy suggests buying shipping insurance for orders over $250. To qualify, you must ship within your processing time with valid tracking or an Etsy label and reply to the buyer's Help request within 48 hours. A damaged item is covered only the first time it happens in a calendar year.
