eBay raises its penalty fees for sellers who stay Below Standard or keep a high 'not as described' rate
Since July 1, 2026, a US seller rated Below Standard for four or more months in a row pays an extra 7% of the sale total in final value fees. Before the fourth month the extra is 6%. A Very High 'item not as described' rate for four or more months in a row raises that category's extra fee from 5% to 6%. The higher rate lasts until your rating improves.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: -$0.10 / -$0.25 / -$0.50
Only for sellers Below Standard four or more months in a row: 1 more point of the sale total, shown on item price alone (no shipping or tax). A Very High 'not as described' rate for four or more months costs the same 1 point in that category. Everyone else: no change.
