Whatnot will bill sellers for USPS weight adjustments from Nov 4
For US shipments sent on or after November 4, 2026, USPS charges for packages that weigh more than their Whatnot-generated label go to the seller's Whatnot ledger. Until now Whatnot absorbed them. For now Whatnot still covers dimension and hazmat adjustments, and it doesn't pass on UPS adjustments yet. Sellers whose first sale was on or after Sept 5, 2026 aren't part of this rollout, and neither are sellers who use their own labels.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
Not a set fee. You pay USPS's charge only when the packed box weighs more than the label says. To avoid it, weigh the packed box and fix the shipping profile before you buy the label. You have 45 days to appeal a charge, and USPS decides the appeal.

Whatnot Premier Shops lose their 10% commission discount on Nov 1
Until October 31, 2026, Whatnot cuts a Premier Shop's commission by a relative 10%, so 8% becomes 7.2%. Starting November 1 that discount goes away, and the rate depends only on the seller's four-week sales tier. Premier Shops keep the badge, the extra visibility in search and priority support. Qualifying still takes $50,000 in sales, 250 orders and 10 shows in 90 days.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: -$0.08 / -$0.20 / -$0.40
Premier Shop sellers only. A Tier 1 fashion Premier Shop going from 6.3% back to 7% keeps $0.07, $0.17 and $0.35 less; at the standard 8% tier (7.2% with the discount) it's $0.08, $0.20 and $0.40. Payment processing (2.9% + $0.30) is unchanged.

Whatnot reprices USPS international shipping for US sellers
Whatnot updated its USPS International rates on October 12, 2026. It says most shipments now cost the same or less, including nearly all shipments to Canada, but some cost more, such as packages over 8 oz to Australia. Whatnot picks the service: First-Class Package International for packages up to 4 lb worth under $400, and Priority Mail International for everything else. To Canada, a package up to 4 oz now costs $8.55-$9.12.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
Buyers pay international shipping unless you offer free or capped shipping (Buyer Pays Max). Whatnot didn't publish the old prices, so the change per package can't be calculated.

Whatnot moves to volume tiers: commission falls as four-week sales grow
US sellers' commission now depends on total sales in the previous four-week period. The standard tier ($0-14,999) is still 8% (4% for coins). Tier 1 starts at $15,000; the top published tier ($500,000+) pays 3.5% (coins) to 6.5% (sports, TCG). Payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30 still applies.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: $0.00 / $0.00 / $0.00
Standard tier: no change. A Tier 1 fashion seller (7%) keeps $0.10, $0.25 and $0.50 more.

Whatnot hands buyer problems to sellers: Seller Provided Support for all US accounts
On September 1, 2026, Whatnot started rolling Seller Provided Support out to every US seller account. Buyer requests about missing, damaged or late items now go straight to the seller, who has two business days to respond. If the seller doesn't respond and the buyer escalates, Whatnot refunds the buyer and bills the seller. Premier Shops must also answer at least 95% of requests within two business days.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
A rule, not a fee. If you don't respond within two business days and the buyer escalates, Whatnot refunds the buyer and bills you the payout, buyer-paid shipping and processing fee (commission may also be charged). You have 14 calendar days to appeal a billback.

Whatnot tightens what counts toward Early Payout
Starting August 31, 2026, only qualifying orders count toward Whatnot's Early Payout milestones. An order qualifies if it was delivered (or 30 days passed since payment with no cancellation, refund, chargeback or dispute), wasn't local pickup, a giveaway or a tip, and had no coupon or credit applied. Sellers who already had Early Payout keep it. Sellers who started before Aug 31 could qualify under the old rules until Sept 30, 2026.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
Affects when a newer seller gets paid (when the label is created instead of after delivery), not fees. The exact thresholds appear only in Seller Hub.

Whatnot's plain-envelope (FCML) labels go up $0.04 to $0.78
On July 31, 2026, Whatnot raised First-Class Mail Letter labels for cards and stickers by $0.04, in line with USPS. Labels now cost $0.78 up to 1 oz with no extra fees, $1.09 over 1-2 oz and $1.39 over 2-3 oz. FCML covers only live-show TCG, sports card and sticker orders of 5 or fewer items that weigh 3 oz or less and total $20 or less.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
Buyers normally pay Whatnot shipping. If you cover shipping, you keep $0.04 less per 1 oz envelope. This could instead be folded into the existing 2026-07-31 Whatnot Ground Advantage entry.

Whatnot makes Ground Advantage the default: $7.75 for 1-5 lb
Whatnot's negotiated USPS Ground Advantage rate is $7.75 ($6.85 + fees) for 1-5 lb packages. Under 1 lb is priced by weight only: $4.47 under 4 oz, $4.85 under 8 oz, $5.25 under 12 oz, $6.75 under 16 oz. Flat Rate stays available at a temporary $12.99 through Nov 1, 2026.

Buyers usually pay Whatnot shipping, so your net doesn't change directly. Watch Nov 1, 2026, when the temporary Flat Rate price ends.

Whatnot: no drop-off proof on a late US order means you pay the refund
Since March 2, 2026, if a US domestic order ships late, the seller has no valid proof of drop-off and the buyer escalates, Whatnot takes the refund back from the seller. Valid proof is a drop-off photo from the in-app scanner, a Whatnot Manifest or carrier scan form, or a carrier acceptance or kiosk receipt. Orders must ship within two business days of the sale.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: n/a / n/a / n/a
A rule, not a fee. The cost is the full refund on any late order you can't prove you dropped off. Dropping off within two business days and scanning every package with the in-app scanner avoids it.

Whatnot: 0% commission on the part of an order above $1,500
In select categories (comics & anime, toys & hobbies, coins, trading card games, entertainment cards, sports singles) Whatnot charges no commission on the part of an order above $1,500. Bags & accessories and jewelry & watches joined on June 4, 2026. Payment processing still applies to the full amount. Whatnot calls it a limited-time promotion.
Your net on a $10 / $25 / $50 sale: $0.00 / $0.00 / $0.00
No effect under $1,500. On a $2,000 sale at 8%, commission is $120 instead of $160.
